Google was founded in 1998 by two Stanford grads, which created google.com in their garage as a “website indexing system originally”.

The world relies on Google to survive and also companies are making money daily, from increased revenue , due to increased exposure via the search engines. Also, do not count out Bing.com which is owned and controlled by the smartest at Microsoft, which also now controls Yahoo.com search engine.Yahoo and Bing.com have almost as much traffic as Google, per 2008 stats.
